These days I'm wondering how Jesus lived that solitude that this garden mysteriously guards. In fact, for us who live here, and for every soul that spiritually unites with the Lord, through the prayer of the Holy Hour, we perceive his appeal with strength and insistence: "Stay here with me!". What the Lord lives here is a solitude full of mystery, because if on the one hand Jesus is the Son of God, and He really is, on the other hand his request demonstrates all his humanity: he presents himself as a "Mendicant of love", in need of our closeness.
It strikes me and consoles me, not with words but in the intimate perception of the soul, how one prays when is in the trial marked by suffering, from a human point of view for imminent death, from the theological point of view, for the weight of the sin of the world. Only the Savior can do this. Paradoxically it is as if, through his being inside this excruciating pain, he tells us not to be afraid to 'stay inside' even in the most difficult situations, such as suffering and the detachment of death, making us discover that this terrible event is inhabited and redeemed by Him, Jesus Christ!
Only the Lord is able to make pain and solitude fruitful, a call for closeness that is still more alive than ever: we remain by His side so that we can stay in today's situations that need the only Savior, even without knowing it. May Mary Queen of Peace intercede for us and for all humanity.
